Annapurna Region Treks

Showing13Packages

For sheer variety of scenery and cultural diversity the Annapurna region has long been considered one of the premier trekking areas in the Himalayas.

The classic route follows the Marsyangdi River upstream in a northerly direction until it scales the heights of Throng La (altitude 5,416 meters) and descends into the dramatic and austere landscapes of the Tibetan-like Upper Kali Valley. The trek passes through picturesque Gurung, Tamang and Thakali mountain villages and boasts spectacular views of the Annapurna massif, as well as some of the best trekking lodges in all of Nepal.

Nepal Trekking Experts offer a variety of alternate routes and side excursions that can expand the experience scenically and culturally, from a visit to the dramatic setting of Tilicho Lake, the world’s highest, to the throwback in time that a visit to the hidden valley of Nar Phu represents. Mardi Himal, Mesokanto La, and extensions that include Tatopani/Jomsom and Ghorepani/Poon Hill add to the experience. The choices and extent of the trek are entirely up to you.

As a road now extends as far as Muktinath the opportunity readily exists to link up directly to Ghorepani, or of venturing even further afield to tackle the region’s other popular trekking route to Annapurna base camp. The base camp trek leads into the frozen heart of the Annapurna range, an amphitheater of monumental proportions sculpted from rock and ice. Highlights include sublime views of fish-tailed Machhapuchhre as well as a visit to the picture-postcard beauty of Ghandruk, a Gurung village close to the main route.

Many regard the Annapurna trek as the pinnacle of trekking experiences in the Himalayas, and Nepal Trekking Experts are ready and waiting to provide all the assistance you'll need to make it a reality for you.
