The best trekking agencies in Nepal
Recently we completed the Lower Manaslu Trek, and it was an unforgettable experience! The trek was well-organized, providing a perfect balance of adventure and cultural immersion by Nepal Trekking Experts. The owner of the company Rajesh is very helpful and informative from the first mail to the end of the trek.
The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, allowing ample time for acclimatization while ensuring we saw all the key sights. The trekking days were not so hard while it was lower foothills of the Mt. Manaslu and the rest days were a great addition to exploring local villages and viewpoints. Our guide was Thakur, he is local from the region, knowledgeable, and passionate. He shared fascinating stories and insights about the local culture, making the trek even more enriching. The porter Gakul was incredibly hardworking, friendly, and ensured our gear was always well taken care of.
On the last day of the trek, we stayed in their house with their family. The lodges and homestays we stayed in were basic homestays, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The meals eating with locals and interacting with them were a highlight of the journey! The landscapes were breathtaking—lush valleys, terraced fields, and towering peaks. Every day brought new and stunning views, making the trek visually rewarding.Considering the quality of service and the experience provided, I found the package to be great value for money. It included everything we needed, from airport pick-up, accommodations, meals, and farewell.Overall, the Lower Manaslu Trek was an incredible journey that exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Nepal Trekking Experts to anyone looking for adventure and cultural exploration. Whether you’re an experienced trekker or a beginner, this package has something to offer everyone!
Tomas GrossiPolandSep 20, 2024Manaslu Circuit in Sept 2024
I did the Manaslu Circuit trek in early September. I was undecided on which trek to do so I reached out to Rajesh at Nepal Trekking Experts after reading good reviews on trip advisor. Rajesh was extremely helpful, able to answer my questions and helped me join with a small group of other travellers. We had an awesome team with our Guide Lok and porters Guatham and Chwayyan, they were experienced, thoughtful and great communicators. It was a fun group dynamic and we all played cards and ate popcorn together in the evening. They became more like friends as the trip continued! I highly recommend requesting all 3 of them for your trek. We had a few days of rain but otherwise the weather was good, quite hot in the beginning and getting cooler as we hiked higher. Rajesh was helpful in checking what gear we would need before our trip left. The route of the circuit was well thought out, and we had a few nights in the same location so we could do some longer day hikes up to the manalsu base camp and to the Tibet border. This was helpful to adjust to the altitude and it meant we could hike without needing to take our big backpacks! Another great tip was to share a jeep to reach the start point of the hike, this saved us a lot of time and meant we could be flexible with traffic and landslides. Lok helped us catch a bus at the end of the trip from Besisahar to Pokhara so we could relax for a few days. I have only positives things to say about my experience with the whole team at Nepal Trekking Experts. I would highly recommend a trek with them, and if I return to Nepal they will be the first group I contact to arrange another.
epope12AustraliaSep 20, 2024Everest Base Camp Trek with Nepal Trekking Experts
We did the Everest Base Trek with Nepal Trekking Experts in September 2024. Everything went more smoothly than we expected. At first we wanted to book only the Kathmandu - Lukla return flight tickets through the agency but we ended up booking a guide as well what proved to be a immensely good choice.
Our guide Resham Neupane was always ready help us in whatever we needed or were curious about. He is completely fluent in English so there were no misunderstandings considering the language barrier. We even became a good friends rather than just clients with a guide. We even met in Kathmandu after the trek and had dinner together. During the trek we always had breakfast or dinner, talked a lot and learned about each other’s country. He even suggested us a bonus hike to Ama Dablam base camp, which is not on a regular EBC itinerary. We happilly agreed and enjoyed this little half-day hike as sell. Resham is overall a very good guide, passionate about his job and about the local nature and mountains, always ready to make a joke, explain anything or even take care of any serious situation that can happen during the hike (injury, altitude sickness, Kathmandu - Lukla flight cancellation etc.) Therefore, if you choose Nepal Trekking Experts, I sincerely advise you to book Resham as your guide. If you want, contact me and I can send you directly his phone number. Or contact Rajesh from Nepal Trekking Experts office:
[email protected]
In addition, I definitely think that you should book a guide for your trek as you get more peace of mind in case of any trouble and you also get a local person who gives you great insight into Nepalese traditions, culture and nature.
And what about the weather on a trek ? We did the hike from September 5 to September 18, so we expected some rain, as the beggining of September can still be rainy but we were lucky. Each day the weather was excellent, we have seen all the mountains and successfully completed the trek. The weather was the same every day with clear skies in the morning, some accummulated clouds thoughout the day and rain only during night. So if any of you are considering the beggining of September for EBC trek, do not hesitate as you will be awarded with much less tourists (thousands of trekkers are flocking to EBC during season time) on the paths and in hotels, which will help you enjoy your trip excellently.Milan SSloveniaSep 20, 2024Amazing experience with a wonderful company!
We did the Manaslu Circuit Trek in September 2024 with Nepal trekking experts.Everything about the experience was exceptional and I would highly recommend this company and the Manaslu circuit trek.Rajesh was very easy to communicate with via email and it was very nice to meet him in Kathmandu on arrival where he discussed the trek in detail , going through the itinerary and kit list and giving advice. The hotel in Kathmandu was lovely and airport pick up very smooth! Our guide Lok was an incredibly experienced guide as well as being knowledgable, kind, warm and organised. I felt 100% safe in his hands and we also really felt that his experience and the fact he is from the manaslu area added to our experience. We were in a group and had 2 porters between 5 (Gotham and Schwanng) who were both incredibly hard working, professional and we enjoyed their company greatly !The experience of the company in this trek really showed - I felt we were always in the best teahouses and our guide would give us advice on what food was best to have in each place as well as teaching us bits about the area and the culture. The whole team had great knowledge of the whole area. From meeting others on the trek using different companies I truly feel that Nepal Trekking experts was the best ! It was also lovely to get to know our guide and porters - often playing cards together in the evenings. The circuit trek is incredibly beautiful. It is challenging and the early days are long but the itinerary is planned very well to help you adjust to the altitude. The trek is absolutely stunning - travelling through jungle, small villages and then up to the high mountains. Highlights were the trip to the Manaslu base camp and the Tibet border.Doing this trek has been one of the best experiences of my life and I would recommend this company to anyone considering doing it!
Zoe DouglasUnited KingdomSep 16, 2024Monsoon Season Everest 3 High Passes Trek
Go with Nepal Trekking Experts. You won’t regret it.
Did a monsoon season (early June) Everest Three High Passes trek with Prakash (my guide) & had the best time.
I previously went with another tour group to do the Annapurna Circuit but ended up switching because the customer service & information didn’t compare to Rajesh & his amazing company. From SAFETY, planning, packing, transportation, logistics, food, & shelter; Rajesh patiently walked me through the two week adventure & picked a specialized guide just for me. Most importantly, Rajesh was extremely transparent throughout the whole process & did not make me feel pressured to commit whatsoever.
Rajesh & Prakash kept me safe, fed, & happy the entire way through with walking poles & comfortable tea houses with friendly locals. After having such a great experience & quickly adapting transportation plans during the Monsoon season, I couldn’t thank them enough.
Prakash is a great guide that knows the routes by heart, manages the transportation logistics like a pro, & even became a good friend along the way. Prakash has done the 3 passes trek over 40 times, with many more treks done during Monsoon season. If you want to feel safe, he’s your guy.Kendall YUnited StatesAug 04, 20245 weeks around Gurkha Region, Manaslu and ABC
I did the Manaslu Trek for 20 days in May 2024, and after a week of rest in Pokhara, the Annapurna Base Camp . For both treks I used the company Nepal Trekking Experts, which showed to be a smart choice from my side. Through Rajesh, the company manager who was always available both by Whatsup and also in person in Kathmandu, I could organize my treks with full flexibility, adapting it to my preferences and skills, not only before leaving but also during the treks themselves, according to the weather, the circumstances and my state of energy.
I was particularly lucky with my guide Resham, who, in comparison with other guides I met during the treks, did a 24 hours job, was extremely resourceful and went always the extra mile in order to improve the trip experience. Thanks to him I discovered places that were not in the guidebook, I slept in homestays of Gurkha people, sharing their food, and taking me to villages where I could appreciate the life of the Nepali people. Furthermore, while hiking the standard trek, he proposed and anticipated often my preferences on the basis of his knowledge of the region and his observation, after a few days, of my strong and weak points. For example, in the Manaslu trek, after a few days he realized that i was faster than average going up, but that going down I was slower due to my knees, and he adapted the trek so that we would reach the Larkya Pass one day before what was initially calculated, so that I would have an extra day going down.
All in all I was very satisfied with Resham and with Nepal Trekking Experts, and I hope to be back next year in Nepal with them.Culture04305462854SpainJul 13, 2024Incredible experience- on you will never forget
I couldn’t recommend this more to anyone! I was planning on doing my trek without a guide and I’m so glad I didn’t - having a guide and going with trekking experts made all the difference🙏🏼 I needed up with going with one other person and our guide , Basanta, who made the experience so much better! He did everything he could to make sure we had the best experience possible: from teaching us all about the mountains and the history, always making sure we were comfortable and happy, teaching us card games and so much more. His English was incredible and honestly his energy just made the experience so much better!
As for the trek itself, the company has created an amazing route where you see all sorts of terrain, you can stop whenever and the views are seriously something you will not see anywhere else.
I loved this experience so much! It is one I will truly never forget ❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you thank you Basanta and trekking experts 🙏🏼🙏🏼Lucy SUnited KingdomJun 17, 2024Manasalu Tsum hike with Nepal trekking experts.
Manasalu plus Tsum valley 21 day hike with guide Thakur Naupane, and porter Santosh. Picking Nepal trekking experts as the company was best decision. With over 1000 companies operating in Nepal, picking Nepal Trekkng experts as random one with decent Trip advisor rating and due to Rakesh Naupane’s persistent and very courteous/ detailed responses to my million questions was well justified. They are not most expensive or cheapest of the tourism companies. They are thorough and their guides and prayers are all very well trained
Rajesh matched us with Thakur and Santosh whom we fondly called Thakur ji and Santosh ji ( though we were the oldies). Both of them were very knowledgeable of the area, both are genuinely caring and added benefit, both spoke Hindi along with English and Nepali.
Thakur ji was forced to walk super slow due to my uphill battle but never pushed me too much. They informed us ina fb what the day would be like, adjusted itinerary to our request. We added days I. Chiming and chakampaar village.
Santosh was always ahead even with our 23kg bag, which is more than recommended weight for porter. They learnt our taste very fast and catered to it.
They also explained with reason do’s and dont’s when it came to food. We did not have any stomach issue through out.
They took care of leg swelling for Tanveer getting local medicine from health center and Sanchi oil for my cold.
Towards the last days of Manasalu hike, we felt severe mountain sickness with headache and dizziness etc, they wisely recommended to descent when return path was going to be much longer. Sending we may need more help, we had to take chopper and between the 3 of them, they arranged for chopper rescue same day and we were back in Kathmandu at blink of an eye .
Even though we did not finish the hike of 21 days and cut is short by 4 days, our experience was such that I will be returning to the mountains soon. And I will most definitely be going with Nepal trekking experts again.
Oh also, they were known in Al
OST every village, specially Thakur N who has been on this trek more than 100 times and it helps to have some one so well acquainted in such remote regions.
He knew exactly which tea house to go to for best food and decent accommodation.
Most guides and porters on these trails would be good but this pair of Santosh and Thakur were above and beyond our expectations and definitely were second most imp reason for a very enjoyable trip. first place of course goes to the Himalayas. Beauty unparalleled in every which way, manasalu trek is so far most pristine hike I ever done.
Nepal has done a very good job keep Manasalu as conservation area and not brought too much tourism attention here. It is one of the places that holds beauty as it was meant to be with no human intervention though slowly they are building roads and soon it may be like Everest base camp or annapoorna. So if one has to pick one and only one hike, for non mountaineers, Manasalu is the one.Jaya MUnited StatesJun 13, 2024
