A memorable adventure in so many ways...
I can't say enough wonderful things about Rajesh and Nepal Trekking Experts...5 stars is simply not enough for the incredible experience, service, professionalism, care, and attentiveness he and his Team provided. We were supported and attended to every step of the way like family.
After researching 10 or so other local Trekking Companies in Nepal, we decided to go with Rajesh and Nepal Trekking Experts because of their incredibly low prices, the fact that they are locally owned and operated, and their very attentive communication. Right from the start, Rajesh and his Team worked with us to curate the best 16 day Trek for our group based on our time, interests and desires. We ended up signing up for the Everest Base Camp Trek with Two Passes and Gokyo Lakes, with the option for the 3rd pass if desired.
I can't underscore enough how quickly things can change when you are up in high, remote mountains, and how important it is to have a local Team that communicates very well and has the ability to make adjustments on the fly as needed. My girlfriend and her brother had climbed Kilimanjaro two years ago, but this was my first big trek. There were the 3 of us plus another solo female traveler who joined our group last minute. We had one friendly fearless tour leader/guide (Dines) and two wonderful porters (Chandra and Machindra). We received nothing but friendly smiles and 5 star service/attentiveness from all of them the entire time.
We stayed at very cozy tea houses every night and ate like kings every day! All three meals each day were at local tea houses with their own restaurants, where we could order anything off the menu! It's good we were trekking 5-6 hours each day, otherwise I would have gained a lot of weight! Every night after diner Dines would check all of our blood pressure and oxygen levels to make sure we were acclimatizing ok. Once you get up to 5000 meters and sleep at the altitude for a couple days, your body definitely starts to feel it. Even with Diamox, which all of us were taking, our sleep was pretty restless, with intense, vivid dreams, and occasional headaches. The higher up you go and stay, the more basic and rustic the accommodations get, but that is all part of the adventure!
I was planning on proposing to my fiance at Everest Base Camp, and told our guide Dines about it. He and the porters became super excited and the porters asked to come along to help make the occasion special and celebrate. Due to weather conditions at EBC that day, I decided to wait until the next morning, when we were supposed to climb up to the best view point for Everest, but that too was cancelled due to rainy weather. That morning as well my fiance's brother woke up feeling very bad (he had come down with some type of stomach bug we think the day before, but powered through to base camp and then with the altitude things got bad fast). Only options to get him down to lower altitude fast were either finding someone to split a $1500 helicopter ride, or spending almost the same $700-800 for 3 donkey rides back down (taking a full day or so.) Within 45 mins or so, Dines and Rajesh had coordinated with the helicopter companies, and found someone willing to split the ride. 20 minutes later he was flown down to Lukla, where Rajesh had already co-ordinated the owner of the tea house there to pick him up, take him in for the day/night and then put him on a flight back to Kathmandhu the next morning.
The weather remained a mix of light rain and clouds, and we made our way towards Gokyo Lakes walking all day on the side of a mountain up in the clouds and mist, with nobody else around---it was very surreal and beautiful, like walking on another planet. We made it to the tea house for the night and the weather continued to deteriorate. This was our 3rd night now staying at 5000 meters or more, and the altitude was definitely starting to effect us all. That night my fiance had severe headaches and nausea all night, and woke up feeling completely depleted, light headed and dizzy. The fact that we were supposed to climb 8 hours over another pass that day in the cold, pouring rain was not an option. The weather forecast showed rain for the next 3-4 days straight, and the fastest we could descend on our own would be 3-4 days walking down wet, muddy, mountain side trails where one slip meant disaster. We decided to evacuate my fiance by helicopter that morning and, once again, within 30-40 minutes of making the decision to do so, Rajesh and Dines had co-ordinated everything! They treated my fiance like a VIP and she was down off the mountain within 1.5 hours back in Kathmandu, where they took her to the international hospital there overnight for treatment and stabilization. It was remarkable to watch Rajesh and his Team pivot so quickly and make changes as needed to ensure our safety and satisfaction. Rajesh even went out of his way to come in person to the hospital to visit my fiance and make sure she was ok and everything was being taken care of.
After we were all back in Kathmandhu, Rajesh heard about my desire to propose to my fiance and organized a beautiful four star hotel in Nagarkot for us all to go to for a night. It was a magical place and the perfect opportunity to relax, propose, and reflect on the adventure we all just had. Rajesh organized everything for us and gave it to us complimentary as a gift.
As you can see, at every point during the trek Rajesh and his Team went out of their way to ensure our safety and satisfaction with everything. The whole time we were in Nepal it felt like we were part of a big family who had our back every step of the way. I have been traveling all over the world for the last 40 years to over 105 countries, and I have never experienced such friendly, authentic service, attentiveness, and genuine concern. We are hoping to come back and explore Bhutan and Tibet as well in the near future, and we will absolutely be using Rajesh and Nepal Trekking Experts again!Alexander BUnited StatesOct 15, 2023Nar Phu valley trek with guide Resham
All,
Do not hesitate and book your Nepal trek with Nepal Trekking experts!
It is by far the best Trekking agency in Nepal!!
A few months before our trip, we read excellent reviews so we contacted Rajesh through email to ask about his suggestions of Nepal treks.
As we are a couple who have been Trekking through Europe Alps, we asked to have a challenging and remote (less crowdy) trek in Nepal, keeping in mind we only had 9 days to do it.
Rajesh answered within minutes with a detailled overview of the Nar Phu Valley trek, which we had never heard before.
Immediately we were thrilled about his passion in his answer about the remote Nar Phu valley trek so we continued with several questions which were all answered very professionally within a few hours.
It was almost impossible not to book this trek so we confirmed and looked forward to our trip a few months later.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu we met with Rajesh to go over the trip details, which was very usefull, and gave us a relax comfortable feeling to start the trek.
The night before departure, we met our Guido Resham and went to dinner with Rajesh and his brother Rabin to discuss the last things.
It was really wonderfull to have this dinner with the 2 brothers Rajesh & Rabin as this made us very at ease to start the exciting adventure.
We had the luxury to start our trek together with another couple (also from Belgium) who did the Annapurna. So the first 2 days we trekked together with our guide Resham and the other guide Radjan and porter Ram.
This group was really amazing and in only 2 days we made a strong band all together which we will never forget. Thank you Radjan, Ram & Resham for this excellent start!!
In Koto our paths seperated as we continued with the Nar Phu part of our trek. The next days were outstanding as the landscape and remoteness of the Nar Phu valley is really ashtonishing! It is a challenging trek, but with Resham as your guide, you will always feel cared and motivated to complete the Trekking day.
All good words, and believe it or not, but the best is yet to come.
Our guide Resham is truely one of a kind. We could not wish, dream or think of someone better to guide us during this trek.
His competence as a guide goes beyond what you expect. Some examples here below:
- he is very caring and will always help you when needed! He caried our sleeping baggs for a few days as we both suffered from some pain due to heavy backpack.
- he knows the people, region extremely well. This is usefull as he will fix you always the best rooms and views possible and can be flexible when the planning is changed due to weather or other Conditions.
- he speaks English very well. Easy to communicate with him and get to know him as a person and also get to know the Nepali culture and nature.
- always in for a laugh. We enjoyed his presence during the walking and also in the evening when playing "Dumball" card games
- very smart and empathic. He evaluates from the start your walking rythm and habits and adapts the trek accordingly. He also sees when you have a more difficult day and will offer his help always
- he brings some snacks along the way so it helps getting your energy boosted when needed
- so many more...
Sorry for the long review, but these guys are worth spending time to write and read excellent reviews.
Thanks Rajesh, Rabin, Radjan, Ram and our "Dai" Resham for this beautifull experience which we will never forget.
Nepal trekking experts is the best and we will recommend you to everyone we know!!Rosa & Dylan
Dylan DBelgiumOct 14, 2023Great experience hiking Annapurna circuit trail.
We trekked the Annapurna circuit trail with Nepal Trekking Experts. Our experience was truly exceptional, thanks to Rajesh and Kamal.
We booked our trip to Nepal three weeks before we left, and during that short time, Rajesh helped us plan where we should go in Nepal. He talked to us and helped us choose the best trail for our journey.
During the hiking trail, we had Kamal as our guide. Beside his kindness, he had extensive trekking experience. We had a fantastic time with him and learned a lot about the local culture, religion, the mountains, temples, and the places we visited.
Both Rajesh and Kamal, were super flexible. We had changed the origin plan according to our hiking performance , we merged a few days, but they fastly came up with great solutions and found excellent tea-houses for us. I believe we stayed at the finest tea-houses during the trek.
The cost was very reasonable, and, most importantl, the service was outstanding. I highly recommend Nepal Trekking Experts to others planning their journeys in Nepal.mohammad nIsraelOct 14, 2023Trekking and More!
We got a recommendation from a family member to use Nepal Trekking Experts, so we did so without hesitation. They exceeded our expectations. We had originally booked the Manaslu Circuit but after booking, I developed a knee problem so we changed to a shorter trek and also planned some sightseeing in other parts of Nepal. Raj was very accommodating and flexible throughout the planning process. He also answered our questions quickly. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we were taken care of from the moment we landed to the time we departed. Both Raj and his kind brother, Rabin, saw to our every need. Our guide for the trek, Lok, was very patient and knowledgeable and our porter, Chhwang, went above and beyond! Because of their excellent service, we got a customized itinerary in Nepal with every detail taken care of. We do not hesitate to recommend Nepal Trekking Experts for your trek AND for any other travel arrangements in Nepal.
Wayfaring4lifeUnited StatesOct 14, 2023Amazing views with even better people!
I would highly recommend Nepal Trekking Experts to everyone looking to do any of the treks in Nepal. All of the accommodations and food throughout the trek was above expectations. Our guide, Dinesh, was funny, knowledgeable and took great care of us throughout our trek. He was a perfect guide and even took us to the best local Momo spot around Namche when he heard us mention wanting some.
Our porters, Chandra and Machhindra, were kind, helpful and went above and beyond when I unfortunately got sick just as we made it to Everest base camp. The owner, Rajesh, did a fantastic job at arranging additional transportation, lodging and just generally made me feel at peace knowing that I was in good hands. I was thoroughly impressed with how quick everything was put into place.
We had dinner with Rajesh a week after the trip, and he is a genuinely great person that puts his all into his work. Even after the trek he went out of his way to arrange our rides to the airport.
All in all, Nepal Trekking Experts is a great company, with great people running it.
When I go back to Nepal, I will certainly book a tour with them again!!DayTrip57507030250United StatesOct 11, 2023Best choice ever

This review might be long but describe my real statement about my Manaslu trek experience :
- Rajesh was available even before my arrival in Nepal to answer my questions, help me with the visa …
- When I arrive in Nepal Rajesh welcomed me warmly , the hotel selected by the company is clean and close to the main shops of Katmandu ( helpful to buy your souvenirs or trek needs)
- The route by the private jeep is the best choice ( thank’s to our super driver who let us feel safe and confortable even during the hard rocky routes )
- The team including the guide and porters when extremely kind and professional, always available to help
- The trek route is incredible many different landscape : forest , river , mountains , villages, monasteries….
- The accommodations during the trek are good with any western demands ( western toilet, food …)
A lot to say but to sum up thanks to Rajesh and his team for the perfect organisation and can’t wait to come back for another trek.
Nota : even u need anything just ask the team they will always find solution for you !!ChaimaeFranceOct 09, 2023The best time ever at Manaslu … experience of a lifetime
We completed the 19-day Manaslu Circuit Track via the Upper Route guided by Ganesh and Gakul from Nepal Trekking Experts.
We had the most amazing time and were able to experience and learn about the country, people and culture from Ganesh and Gakul along the way. Both have extensive trekking experience and looked after us in every way possible, accommodating all our needs and wishes.
With everything taken care of by Ganesh and Gakul we were able to relax completely and enjoy the beautiful Nepalese landscape fully.
They helped us out when the going got tough and when we caught a cold to get us back on our feet quickly.
Ganesh and Gakul made our trip even more special and fun because of the many laughs and good times we enjoyed together.
The Upper Manaslu Route was spectacular with amazing views and all on walking tracks (no roads).
If you want to trek Nepal on remote tracks where people live their traditional life’s, feeling safe and supported, then I highly recommend booking with Nepal Trekking Experts.Yvonne GAustraliaOct 07, 2023Great service and would recommend
We had a great experience booking with Rajesh as he is very responsive and answer any questions that we had. He is very knowledgeable and able to recommend us the type of trek that suits us as well as good local hidden restaurants where we as a tourist would not know it ourselves.
He has great team working with him. Our guide Binod is very friendly and works around our need during our trek. Binod is also very knowledgeable in tue mountains and always checking on us to make sure that we did not get altitude sickness.
Our porter was also very good. Dilli is very friendly and always offer to help when we are tired. Binod would offer to carry my sister bag back when he sees that she is struggling at different stages of our trek and Dilli would offer to help carry our jacket (even though he is already carrying our other things in the duffel bag).
All in all, we really enjoy their services and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an agent to help plan for their trek in Nepal.k_love_to_travelllAustraliaOct 06, 2023
