Highly Professional team
While I had a short time in Nepal and was keen to hike, Nepal Trekking Experts offered me 3 days Chisapani Nagarkot Trek. The host Rajesh and my guide Rabin were amazing. The first day of the hike was short but a bit challenging for me but of course worth it. I really enjoyed the lush jungle, massive Kathmandu valley view and reached Chisapani. Chisapani was situated at the hillock and offered stunning views of the Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Gaurishanker and more. The second day was a pleasant hike through some local villages, farming and greenery to Nagarkot. The overnight stay in Nagarkot was welcoming and luxurious. Once again I had a great view with a beautiful sunrise from the roof of the Hotel. Finally we end up our trek to one of the famous Hindu temples Changu Narayan and drive back to Kathmandu.
Overall it was a fabulous experience with NTE. I can not recommend them enough. Hope to see you soon guys!
Patrick RabeUnited StatesFeb 21, 2020Stop research-Nepal Trekking Experts is the Best!
It's hard to write this review without sounding hyperbolic, but Rajesh and the team at Nepal Trekking Experts are simply the best -- if you're considering a trek of any length in Nepal, you want these guys! My wife and I are professional wilderness instructors in the United States, and we were hesitant to use a guide in Nepal, much less a porter. We figured we could do it ourselves -- in retrospect, we're so glad we decided not to. From beginning to end, Rajesh, Daljit (our guide), and Santa (our porter), were professional, hardworking, and incredibly thoughtful. From our personal pickup at KTM, to the top-notch hotel they chose for us in Kathmandu, to the private jeep ride the arranged for our 7-hour drive to the Langtang Valley, to the custom route they put together for us, we simply couldn't have asked for more. They took care of all the logistics, and let us enjoy our two weeks in Nepal.
We did the Langtang Valley trek, after a mid-December snowstorm made it impossible to do the Manalsu Trek (our original choice). As soon as snow closed the pass around Manalsu (several weeks before our scheduled arrival in Nepal), Rajesh reached out to present alternative options, from Langtang to Annapurna. He helped us understand the various options in detail, and then put together a custom Langtang route, based on our desire to cover as much terrain as possible in 12 days! In the end, Rajesh and Dal designed a route that combined the Tamang Heritage trail, Langtang Valley, Gosaikunda Pass, and Helambu. It was an amazing route, and each day Dal made adjustments as necessary -- there was nothing cookie-cutter about it, or prescribed villages we had to stay in. Instead, he was flexible and creative, according to our pace and interests. For instance, at the end of the Langtang Valley, we took an extra day to climb Cherko Ri -- after we summited the peak, Dal and Santa took us on an off-trail, high alpine adventure to explore even more of the valley.
By deciding to use a guide and porter, we were able to support the Nepalese economy, and learned far more about the history of the area than we would have otherwise. Dal and Santa answered all our questions, helped us spot monkeys, black bears, and (rare!) mountain goats, offered us endless tea refills, and always made sure we had the nicest room in the guest house. At the end of Langtang Valley, Dal even found us a rooftop "penthouse suite" with windows on three sides of the stunning mountains outside.
Back in Kathmandu, before and after the trip, Rajesh and his team were incredibly professional, diligent, and detail-oriented. They don't miss a thing, and often seemed to reply to our emails within minutes of receiving them. We felt very well cared for. Because Rajesh arranged all our transportation and our hotel, we didn't have to worry about buses, taxis, or haggling room prices. Rajesh and his brother both started as guides, before founding Nepal Trekking Experts, and this shows in everything they do. They clearly have an intimate knowledge of every route, village, and road, because they have guided there themselves. At the same time, they employ the highest quality guides and porters (guys like Dal and Santa), who clearly enjoy working for such a reputable, well-established company.
Don't waste your time doing more research -- seriously. If you're doing a trek in Nepal, look no further. Rajesh will answer every question you have and set you up for the adventure of a lifetime.
KevinUnited StatesJan 31, 2020Manaslu Trek with Bikash
AndreasGermanyJan 08, 2020An Awesome Guide Ensures the Success of a 71-year-old First-time Trekker
I took my 71-year-old father to Nepal on an impromptu visit in the winter and he trekked for the first time in his life! On the first day, he walked 8 hours and 21500 steps and the following day 7 hours 19000 steps! He has already given up in the beginning and was shocked to see such high mountains, but as I continued to give him mental and physical support, with the unceasing support of my guide, Resham, he pushed through to 3840m, and his perspective changes along the journey. He ascended the mountains a tired, grumpy old man but descended a confident, happy lad — feeling 10 years younger with greater endurance, stronger legs and overall health!

Rajesh was great from start to finish, he planned every part of the trip and made it all a very easy process for me. He was very attentive and answered all queries very quickly - before and during the trip. He made me feel very welcome when i got there and was on hand for any issues i had or any advice on what to visit in the local area. Dinesh my guide was wonderful and also very attentive, he made the whole trip stress free and very enjoyable. Thank you very much for an amazing trip, the views were amazing! :). Ultimately do not hesitate to book your trip with them.
CharlotteUnited KingdomDec 29, 2019Phenomenal Gokyo Valley Trek
We've just returned from an absolutely incredible trek towards Gokyo with Nepal Trekking Experts. From top to bottom they were the phenomenal! I can't wait to go back to Nepal and book other treks with them. Rajesh (the owner) was always quick to reply and very attentive to our long lists of questions and concerns. Our guide, Mohan was knowledgeable, fun, caring, curious, diligent, and went out of his way to make the trip one of a lifetime. He was also clearly a big fan of his boss which made us feel good that the company was on the up and up. Our porter Bal was very much part of our group, friendly, very attentive, and always ready with a laugh. Even in December we saw many other guided treks on the trail and each time we were thrilled with our choice. Rajesh clearly takes good care of his employees and clients. Other porters did not have appropriate gear. We got a big dumping of snow and the temperatures went below 0 (F) overnight. We saw other porters soaking wet, wearing jeans and thin leather jackets and generally looking miserable. But Bal had appropriate gear and was really part of our group despite the language barrier. I asked Rajesh ahead of time if he had insurance for employees, but when he said yes, I realized that I had no way to verify it. During the trip it came up and Mohan confirmed that they really did and that, unlike many other trekking companies we were seeing, Rajesh really did take care of his porters. Our guide Mohan was particularly attentive to our specific needs. My husband is afraid of heights and not a huge fan of winter trekking (he really went for me). Mohan knew that and did everything in his power to make the trip comfortable, making sure we had the best room in every lodge, staying barely a step behind him on the bridges, walking next to him on the outside of the trail where there were steep contours, and distracting him with Nepali history and language lessons on steep sections where he needed a distraction. After we got a lot of snow in Dole, Mohan knew that my husband would not be thrilled with the slippery descent so he suggested we turn back so that we could take our time rather than having to do the whole thing in four days. It was a great decision. It was disappointing not to reach Gokyo, but Mohan was clearly right and instead of finishing the trip with four punishingly long and slow days, we had a wonderful last few days taking our time getting back to Lukla and relaxing. The Goyko trek itself is HIGHLY recommended. After Namche we split off from all the groups heading to EBC and had a really serene trail with more yaks and herders to pass than other trekkers. The trail is wonderfully scenic and very well maintained. Great views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam from every turn. I can't say enough good things about Nepal Trekking Experts, Rajesh, or Mohan. Book them for your trek. You won't regret it!
