I highly recommend trekking with Nepal Trekking Experts -- especially if you are going to do the Manaslu Circuit Trek! Rajesh, Thakur D. (our guide), and Thakur N. (our porter) are all from the Manaslu region and their depth of knowledge of the area was evident in every part of our experience.

This is my second trek with Rajesh. He was my guide for a Langtang trek in 2014, and when I heard that he'd started his own company, I couldn't wait to support him when planning this second trip. I'm so glad we did!

Because we booked in advance, we were able to get one of their team's most senior guides, Thakur D. He was excellent! He answered all our questions, had a great sense of humor, made us feel safe, and knew so much about the route and area. Thakur N. was a wonderful porter. He carried our heavy bags without a single complaint, was always helpful at the tea houses, and was a serious Dhumbal competitor (bring a deck of cards and ask him to teach you how to play!).

Another reason to choose Nepal Trekking Experts: 
While on the trail, it was clear that not all guides & trekking companies are equal; very few matched ours in professionalism and none beat ours in experience. Our guide, Thakur D., had 10+ years of experience over other guides and does a Manaslu trek 2-3 times a year. Other guides were choosing tea houses because of Thakur's recommendation, and I observed him mentoring other guides while we were hiking. 

Also, I trusted his experience over all other guides on the trail and felt safer having him in the lead. For example, when we went over Larke Pass, a winter storm blew in, limiting visibility. It was Thakur that knew the route best and led the way down the mountain not only for us, but for all other trekkers and guides on the trail at the time.

All in all, there are many choices out there, but none beat Nepal Trekking Experts! I highly recommend them!

I can't say enough about Nepal Trekking Experts! From our first communication, all questions and concerns were addressed. We were met at the airport in Kathmandu and were taken care of - from hotel stays to the food provided on the trek. Our guide Dinesh was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, accommodating and made the trip that much more enjoyable as we know our safety and well being were taken care of. The route was spectacular and the 360 degree views of the beauty of the Himalayan mountains are sites that will never be forgotten. Our oxygen levels were monitored at higher elevations which enabled all of us to achieve our goal of safely making it to Base camp and back. A fantastic experience overall!

Rajesh and the team (Binod, Kritam and Chhwang) that managed the Manaslu trek for me and a couple of other hikers were all fantastic.
This was my first trek in Nepal (although I have a lot of hiking and climbing experience elsewhere), and I had of course many questions before leaving. The answers were always precise and fast. This made me choose this company, since when you are out above 5000m, you need quick and good answers :-) :-)
During the trek Binod, Kritam and Chhwang were even too professional :-) :-) They made our ascent easy, despite the challenges from elevation, distance and climate, and in the end we made it through the pass despite the heavy snowfalls that had covered it with a meter of snow in March (a very unusual occurrence). Without Binod and his experience, that helped him coordinate the ascent with other guides and porters, none of the 30-40 people who crossed the pass that day would have made it. They would have had to go back down the Budhi Gandaki valley with a sad look on their faces (like several other groups we saw before the crossing, and that made us a bit uncomfortable, I must say :-) :-) ). Sure, this was not Everest, but still crossing Larke pass in the wrong conditions, e.g. too late in the day when the weather turns bad, can end up being deadly.
They were all very nice, and we enjoyed their company enormously, much more as friends than as people hired to complete a task. Carrying apples and pomegranates on their shoulders to provide us with a nice fruit dessert every day was a wonderful touch.
The high route to the Manaslu circuit, via Barpak and Laprak, was a very good choice, offering great views of Ganesh Himal and an unmatched opportunity to celebrate the Holi festival on a hilltop with locals.
Just one tip: learn what "Nepali flat" means before you go. It's NOT flat at all :-) :-) On many days we climbed 1000-1500m, and went down 400-600m, despite being still nominally on a valley bottom in the low part of the trek. Landslides, rock walls and so on make Nepali trails very "unflat" :-) And beware also of so-called "rest days". They can be even more tiring than regular trekking days, because you are actually supposed to hike very high (without backpacks) to better acclimatize, up to 1500m in a day. But at the end the pass will look almost like an effortless job (that is, unless it's covered in snow :-) ).
I will be back with them next year :-)

The Annapurna circuit trek is definitely one of the highlights of my travels. Each day is different and walking amongst the mountains is just magical. Photos never capture what you feel being there. each moment is wondrous and awe inspiring.

What made it even more special was our guide Kamal, and Rajesh, the owner of the company. From the begining, Rajesh was quick to respond, full of helpful advice and extremely accomodating. He even helped ensure we got good deals on gear that we had to purchase.

Our guide, Kamal, truly made the experience more special. His expertise in the area made us feel safe throughout and we learnt lots about the landscape and history of the area. While his humour, songs, dance and card games made the cold evenings go by quickly with lots of laughs.

Had a blast, and looking forward to doing another trek with Nepal trekking experts

We just completed the Annapurna circuit trek with Nepal Trekking Experts - whom we came across due to a recommendation. From the first point of contact with the company’s owner, Rajesh, everything was seamless. We met with him and our guide Kamal on the day prior, where they outlined the itinerary and helped us with a few last minute purchases.
Our trek would not have been the memorable experience it was if it wasn’t for our guide Kamal. His knowledge of the mountains and the area allowed us to truly appreciate the surroundings we were in. His patient and calm presence throughout the two weeks provided us with the confidence to complete this trek.

We loved our time on this circuit and look forward to organising our next one with this company again soon!

I recently completed the Manaslu Circuit trek via the upper route with 'Nepal Trekking Experts' in October last year. It was an amazing experience, my first Himalayan trek. The owner Rajesh was very helpful with planning and advice both in Kathmandu and via email, making me feel very confident about this trip and giving good advice about the equipment I needed. It was especially nice to be picked up from the airport by him - arrival at night in a strange city can be quite daunting! Although bad weather conditions were being reported in the high valleys around Manaslu, he kept me updated and planned a safe trip. I joined a group of 11 other trekkers for this trip, and we shared jeeps up to the trailhead at Barpak. The trekking team, with guide Rabin in the lead, and guides/porters Gakul, Kritam and Santosh, were always helpful and cheerful and couldn't do enough for us during the trek. They liked to entertain us with dancing and song, and were all smiles despite their loads and liked to chat. Their local knowledge of Manaslu proved invaluable when we needed a quick change of plans due to changes in path conditions, they always seemed to know how to get round any obstacles we came upon. As a bonus their cooking skills meant we always had a tasty range of meals in the teahouses. Although members of our group walked at different speeds, we always managed to find the way, helped by the team who kept with us all day. Their encouragement was especially appreciated particularly on the long, long day crossing the snowy Larkye La pass. Great service all round from the company and team and good value for money too. There was so much to appreciate on this circuit, from the grand vistas of snowy peaks, deep valleys, airy bridges, smiling faces, giggling kids and colourful mountain villages. I will certainly use Nepal Trekking Experts again when I return to Nepal for more adventures.

we just finished the wonderful trek of Manaslu circuit, in the hands of a very competent compagny,NEPAL TREKKING EXPERTS. from the beguinning the communication was perfect and very professional with Rajesh, the owner of the compagny. we had to postponed the trip last november du to covid, but it was no problem. we were alowed to change the dates with no pressure . the team was at the airport to greet us and take us to our hotel and then we had a briefing with Rajesh who introduced us to our guide, LOK.
RAJESH invited us for diner which was quite nice of him. we discussed the trek and the itinary we requested.
our guide , LOK and guide porter SANTOS, were extremely professionals, adapting there pace to our slow pace with no pressiure. LOK is a very gentle man, very calm, with loads of experience, and take the right decisions at the opportun moment. we always felt safe with him , which alowed us to rely on him constantly and concentrate on the trek. SANTOS, a yound 31 years old man, who is learning to be a guide, was always waiting for us, always smiling, and taking part of the conversation. he was as well very competent and the team LOK,, SANTOS, worked splendidly.
when things got tougher because of bad weather, snow, and extrem cold I still had complete confidence in them. on the way done from the Larkaya Pass I sprained mh ankle with the crampons and they handle the issue with great self control with no panic . we waited for the rescue party . Santos went down to village to fetch porters to take me down as helico cojld not land due to bad weather. LOK stayed with us putting his life in danger of hypothermia waiting 9 hours in freezing minus 13 degrees, with us. when we arrived back in Katmandu, Rajesh visited me at the clinic where I stayed 24 hrs it was very nice of him.
I would recommend this compagny as well as our guide Lok and guide porter Santos for any trek.
we had a great experience and Manaslu circuit is a wonderful part of the world.
I recommand the side trips like Serang Gumpa, and puygen gumpa.
the culture is amazing. and well worth lear ing about.
i recommand to take a satallite phone or a gps tracker in case of emergency.

Trekking company was very organised and a fair price for the langtang valley trek. Would highly recommend. They made me feel at ease by meeting up with them the day before the hike to meet the guide, the owner and they went thoroughly through the itenary and stuff to bring on the trek.

The guide, Rajan, was excellent throughout and spoke really good English. He explained the history of langtang valley and knew the routes well. I was really great to go an alternative way back to the usual route so we didn't go back on the same path for too long ar langtang valley. He was patient and the food to be included along with a coffee each morning and fruit in the evening was a really nice freebie to be added in. I was the only one from the groups to be offered this and the only one to have fruit each evening which was nice. The guide also carried a first aid kit with him, just incase something went wrong which is always re-assuring.

Overall the experience was amazing, the viewpoint at langtang valley was breathtaking and would highly recommend this company.
